The motivated classroom program

Student engagement and self-motivation promote successful learning.

The Motivated Classroom program is a series of professional development activities designed to help teachers understand how motivation works and why we need to help students become self-motivated.

This program, used widely in England and Scotland, gives teachers a wide range of practical strategies for developing classroom climates which promote and foster student engagement and self-motivation.

Children in Lesson

The Motivated Classroom challenges teachers to look at how they relate to students and how they use their role in the classroom to help students learn. This program offers teachers a practical alternative to authoritarian “praise and punishment” discipline techniques and focuses on building students’ self-efficacy through achievement and empowerment.

“Cambridge Education has designed and implemented a training and development program for the employees of the State's Charter Schools Division. This program has already proved to be invaluable in both increasing the knowledge, skills, and understanding of staff and in building local capacity, which will enable the Charter Schools Division to undertake its own site- based visits within the next twelve months.”
